Local Priorities Drug dealing/ drug use Message

I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On Saturday evening Officers from Camden Town SNT , the Camden Town Centre Team and the Special Constabulary working alongside City of London Police dog Elvis and his handler conducted a proactive drugs operation on Camden High Street in the vicinity of Camden Town Station.

In total 39 people were stopped and searched with 20 found to be in possession of controlled drugs, this was a combination of Cannabis, Cocaine and Ketamine. Those found to be in possession of drugs were all dealt with by a range of disposal options ranging from Community Resolutions to being Summonsed to Court.

Residents passing by mentioned repeatedly how pleased they were to see us proactively targeting those who choose to bring illegal drugs into our community.
